•  ​Best Buddies Florida Atlantic University is a part of Best Buddies International a nonprofit organization in 50countries committed to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-onfriendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmentadisabilities (IDD).Everyone deserves friendship.  

• Disability or not, we all want companionship and acceptance froour peers and Best Buddies works to bridge this gap and eliminate hurtful stereotypes. 

• Best Buddies empowers people with IDD to be contributing members of society by providing opportunities and support in order to securrewarding jobs, live independently, become inspirational leaders, make lifelong friendships.

• In the past, individuals with IDD have not had the opportunity to have friends outside of their own environment. We all have our flaws and imperfections, why should they be isolated from society because of theirs? As humans we all desire companionship and acceptance, these students are no exception so why rob them of something we all desire and need to be happy in life?

• The Best Buddies chapter at Florida Atlantic University is committed to finding true friendships for everyone! Best Buddies at FAU matches people with IDD in one-to-one friendships with colleg students. 

• By becoming a College Buddy, you will offer a Buddy the chance to explore a new way of life. This is your chance to have a life changing experience and make an impact! Be a part of our global mission as we work to achieve social inclusion!

• The host sites for Best Buddies FAU are Palm Beach Arc , the Dan Marino Foundation and the Transitioning Owls

• Along with these amazing opportunities there will be many service hour and community interaction opportunities throughout the year either from our organization or third party sources in the area and service hours will be generously given to members who choose to pursue these opportunities.
